At Murphy Beds of San Diego, we are proud to offer high-quality CabinetBeds for your home.
What’s the difference between a Murphy bed and a cabinet bed? Simply put, a Murphy bed is usually vertical and it is attached to the wall in the room where it is placed. A cabinet bed resembles a buffet; it is horizontal and freestanding – no installation required. This opens up the possibilities of where you can add a foldup bed in your home, since it requires only about 10 square feet of floor space. It is easy to incorporate in very small spaces – even a closet, hallway or mini hobby room.
CabinetBed Features
Cabinet beds can be used in lots of different ways because of their unique features, some of which include:
- The ability to place a TV on the top of the cabinet – or any decorative items. They stay in place when the bed folds open.
- The cabinet becomes a comfortable bed in about 30 seconds.
- Rolling, undercabinet storage drawers are optional.
- Built-in power outlets and technology (USB) ports.
- Fully assembled cabinets.
About Cabinet Beds from Murphy Beds of San Diego
Over 98 percent of the cabinet beds we offer are made in North America from solid wood and plywood. Most of the wood is sourced from renewable tree plantations to make a minimum impact on the environment. Our cabinet beds are never made from inferior particle board or cheap MDF.

All the cabinet beds from Murphy Beds of San Diego feature tri-fold, premium gel memory foam mattresses which come in sizes twin, full and queen.
Many of our CabinetBeds are available in a variety of beautiful finishes, from light colors to dark stains. We can also provide a custom finish, if you don’t see any options you like. We are happy to provide a custom quote for your cabinet bed’s unique finish.
